Community Guidelines

509 Connection is a place to meet real people across the islands and the diaspora. These guidelines keep it genuine, respectful, and safe. Using the app means agreeing to follow them — and they apply everywhere on 509 Connection: profiles, photos, prompts, and messages.

Be respectful

Treat people the way you'd want to be treated. No harassment, bullying, threats, hate speech, or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other characteristic. A "no" is a complete answer — don't pressure anyone.

Be real

• Be yourself. Use recent photos of you, and don't impersonate anyone.
• One account per person. No fake or duplicate profiles.
• Get verified — the yellow seal tells others you're a real, checked person.

Be 18+

509 Connection is for adults only. Everyone must be 18 or older. We remove any account we believe belongs to a minor, and any content that sexualizes minors is reported to the authorities.

Keep it appropriate

• No nudity or sexually explicit photos in your profile.
• No violent, graphic, illegal, or hateful content.
• No sharing of other people's private information without their consent.

No solicitation or scams

509 Connection is for dating and connection — not business. No spam, advertising, prostitution, or selling. Never send money to someone you've met on the app, and report anyone who asks. Romance scams are not welcome here.

Tools to protect yourself

You're in control. From any profile or chat you can:

• Unmatch to remove a connection.
• Block someone so you never see them and they never see you.
• Report a profile or message. We review every report.

Date safely

• Get to know someone in the app before meeting in person.
• Meet in a public place the first few times, and tell a friend where you'll be.
• Never feel obligated — leave any situation that feels off.

Enforcement

Breaking these guidelines can lead to content removal, a warning, or — for serious or repeated violations — suspension or permanent removal from 509 Connection, without notice. Serious safety issues may be referred to law enforcement.
